Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are the most common questions and answers from students and parents. If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us.
Q: What kind of scholarships can I get?
A: Most students applying through BON WAY receive scholarships because we understand the application requirements and can match you with the most suitable options. Specific scholarships depend on individual circumstances. Please contact us for a free consultation.
Q: Do scholarships cover all academic years?
A: It depends on the type of scholarship. BON WAY will explain the duration and policy of recommended scholarships before applying, so you can choose a university that fits your budget.
Q: Which universities do you cooperate with?
A: We can help you apply to all universities in China. The key is whether you meet the admission requirements of your target university. This is why many students choose BON WAY—we know the requirements and help you avoid wasting time on universities that don’t match your profile.
Q: When is the application deadline?
A: Deadlines vary by university and program. Some universities start accepting applications for the next fall as early as October, while others begin in March. Generally, by May, most scholarship spots are nearly filled. Therefore, the earlier you apply, the better.
Q: What are the grade requirements?
A: Grade requirements vary by university and program. With the large number of universities in China, students with high or average grades can find suitable options.
Q: Are there age requirements?
A: For undergraduate programs, applicants are generally under 25 (some up to 30). For master’s programs, under 30 (some up to 40). As long as your age meets the requirement, you can apply regardless of when you graduated.
Q: Are courses taught in English or Chinese?
A: You can choose programs taught in either Chinese or English, provided you meet the language requirements. Most international students choose English-taught programs, but courses also include Chinese as a second language to help students adapt to life and study in China.
Q: Do I need to study Chinese before starting my program?
A: For English-taught programs, you do not need prior Chinese study; Chinese is included as a second language in the curriculum. For Chinese-taught programs, you must meet the required Chinese proficiency before enrolling.
Q: I am taking the national exam this year—should I apply for one year of Chinese or an undergraduate program?
A: If you are in your final year of high school and know your intended major, it is recommended to apply directly for the undergraduate program before the national exam. Most universities accept high school grades before the national exam, and you can receive an admission notice in advance, regardless of your final score. If you apply for one year of Chinese, next year your application will depend mainly on your national exam score, and a lower score may reduce admission chances.
Q: I am in my final undergraduate year—should I apply for one year of Chinese or a master’s program?
A: If you plan to apply for a master’s program next year, you must ensure that you will receive your official bachelor’s diploma and transcripts before September. Otherwise, even if admitted, you cannot enroll. If your diploma is issued late (common in Moroccan public universities, often December), it is recommended to first apply for one year of Chinese, then apply for the master’s program once your diploma is ready.
Q: What should I pay attention to when applying for master’s scholarships?
A: Early preparation and timely application are crucial. CSC scholarships usually close in February; provincial/city scholarships in April; university scholarships may close in May. The earlier you apply, the higher your chances. Obtaining an acceptance letter from a supervisor in your intended field greatly improves your chances.
Q: When is it recommended to take one year of Chinese?
A: If you are unsure about your major, need more time to improve English, or want to get familiar with China first, one year of Chinese is recommended.
Q: Are the degrees recognized?
A: Degrees obtained through BON WAY are officially recognized in Morocco and widely recognized internationally. Many students continue to pursue master’s programs in the UK or Canada without issues. Generally, public university degrees have higher recognition than private ones, and degrees from higher-ranked universities are processed more efficiently for certification.
Q: Are there student dormitories on campus?
A: Most universities provide on-campus dormitories, usually double rooms. Due to increasing demand, many universities also offer triple and quadruple rooms. BON WAY will explain the accommodation options before applying.
Q: Can students rent off-campus housing?
A: Most universities do not allow off-campus housing, especially for first-year students. Some universities allow off-campus housing if on-campus accommodation is limited.
