As an international student, you may choose programs taught in either Chinese or English:

English-taught Programs:
English-medium programs are usually the most popular choice among international students. However, not all programs are available in English, as a minimum number of enrolled students is required to open a class. International students will form separate classes taught in English (no Chinese students will be in the same class, since their programs are taught in Chinese). Applying for English-taught programs usually requires proof of English proficiency, such as IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo scores (some universities do not require this).

Chinese-taught Programs:
You are eligible to apply for all programs open to Chinese students, covering nearly every academic field. Since courses are taught in Chinese, you will study together with Chinese students.

Before admission, you are required to meet the minimum Chinese language proficiency of the chosen program, usually by providing HSK results and achieving at least HSK Level 4 (equivalent to B2 level of the CEFR standard). If you do not meet this requirement, you will need to study Chinese first.

There are usually more options available at the master’s level than at the undergraduate level. Common undergraduate English-taught programs are listed below (programs may be adjusted each year according to demand):
