Tuition fees and scholarships are among the most important concerns for applicants.
Scholarships
At BON WAY, before helping you apply for scholarships, we provide detailed explanations of the scholarship amounts and coverage periods, allowing you to choose programs that best fit your budget. For international students, especially those from Morocco, the main types of scholarships available include:
- University Scholarships
Compared to other scholarships, university scholarships are relatively easier to apply for and have the largest number of available spots. They include full scholarships (fewer) and partial scholarships (more). If a scholarship is awarded in the first year, students usually need to pass an annual review to continue receiving it; otherwise, it may be reduced. Some universities only offer scholarships for the first year.
- Local Government Scholarships
These scholarships are provided by provincial or city governments, with provincial scholarships typically harder to obtain than city scholarships. Different amounts are awarded based on selection from lists of recommended students from all universities in the province or city, making competition intense. These scholarships must be re-applied for and re-evaluated each year. Among them, the Belt and Road Scholarship is particularly suitable for Moroccan students, but it only covers the first year.
- Chinese Government Scholarships (CSC)
This is the highest-level and most competitive scholarship, covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and insurance, usually for the entire duration of the program. The application process requires: early submission (typically by February–March), excellent academic performance, strong extracurricular or competition experience, and good language proficiency.
- Chinese-taught undergraduate students may apply, but they must first study Chinese and achieve the required HSK level.
- English-taught undergraduates are not eligible.
- Master’s and doctoral students, whether in English or Chinese programs, may apply, but the selection is highly competitive.
- Confucius Institute Scholarships
These are only open to students who have studied Chinese and reached the required level, and a recommendation from a Confucius Institute in Morocco is required.
Self-Funded Study and Cost Reference
Regardless of whether you receive a scholarship, it is important to understand the following costs in advance and consider: if you do not receive a scholarship, can you afford these expenses?
- If self-funding is acceptable: Choose universities with high rankings in well-located cities.
- If self-funding is not acceptable: Choose universities with the highest likelihood of offering scholarships.
Major Cost References
Tuition and On-Campus Accommodation
- Undergraduate programs in most cities and majors: ~30,000–40,000 MAD/year
- Medicine and Dentistry: starting from 50,000 MAD/year
- Top-tier cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen): starting from 50,000 MAD/year
- Master’s and PhD programs: starting from 40,000 MAD/year
- Chinese Language programs: ~20,000–30,000 MAD/year
Living Expenses
- Approximately 1,500–2,500 MAD per month, average 1,500 MAD
- Campus cafeterias are cheaper than off-campus restaurants, with government subsidies; cooking yourself is even cheaper
- Personal spending varies with family financial situation; figures are for reference only
Other Annual Fees (≤5,000 MAD)
- Includes textbooks, student insurance, medical check-ups, residence permits, etc.
Considering that these costs are comparable to or lower than most private schools in Morocco, we recommend that families with sufficient financial resources prioritize universities with better rankings and cities, while staying within budget.

Students traveling to China for the first time usually purchase a one-way ticket, typically costing between 6,000 and 10,000 MAD.
